A. R. Murugadoss has faced a major setback in his career with Rajinikanth’s cop drama Darbar (2020). The film was panned by critics and subsequently ended as a box-office bomb. With the aim of making a comeback, he has collaborated with Salman Khan on a commercial potboiler film.
Titled ‘Sikander’, it features Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. It is bankrolled by Sajd Nadiadwala on a massive budget. According to the latest update, the makers have wrapped up the pre-production work, and the project is all set to go on the floor on June 18, 2024.
As officially announced, Sikander is aiming for a worldwide release for Eid 2025. Besides this, Murugadoss has also signed to direct a film with Tamil actor Sivakarthikeyan. Rukmini Vasanth was announced as the female lead in the flick.
